Community and Outreach

We are a community resource and want to make sure that our neighbours always feel welcome.

Opportunities to come and join us in the Museum, garden or our kitchen are posted below.

Volunteering Opportunities

The Saturday Morning Gardening Club is a great place to meet other amateur gardeners and adopt the garden at St Mary’s. No experience at all is required, just bring enthusiasm and we’ll provide the rest. Sessions are from 10am – 3pm but you don’t have to stay for the full time, just drop by when you have a chance and we’ll be glad to see you.

Upcoming gardening club dates

  • September 16th and 30th
  • October 7th – A celebration of the year’s gardening open to all garden volunteers (a food session with the Museum’s Food Learning Officer – 10.30am – 3pm)

Find out about our other volunteering opportunities at the Museum, including front of house and learning volunteers.

Garden Museum in the community

Previous projects have included outreach to a doctor’s surgery, schools, nurseries and a housing estate. If you’re interested in an outreach project in your school, estate or other setting, get in touch with Janine, Janine@gardenmuseum.org.uk.
