British Flowers Week | Summer Wreath Workshop with Mahal Kita

We're pleased to offer this event as part of British Flowers Week

Join Antony from Mahal Kita as he takes you through a crash course on how to make a fresh floral summer wreath from scratch. Using just branches, moss, wire, british blooms, foliage and a splash of your own creative flair.  Mahal Kita’s workshops are relaxed and fun, taking a more holistic approach to teaching, giving you confidence to create as you go.  You’ll leave with a great looking wreath and techniques to continue creating floral decorations by yourself at home.

Please read our Visitors’ Charter and Q&As for the measures we’ve put in place to ensure your visit to the Museum is safe and enjoyable.

As the modern fairytale goes, after working in fashion in London for years, Antony along with partner and dog relocated to Kents east coast to 'Shoreditch-On-Sea' - Margate and opened up a floral studio and shop. Keeping it in line with being a product of the millennial generation, Mahal Kita Flowers keeps it off centre, colorful and always full of love.
As an ode to his Filipino mother, Mahal Kita simply means 'I love you', and this is carried through everything the flower studio do. Flowers are beautiful, ridiculous and funny, they represent so much and yet they are so transient. In that sense Mahal Kita takes this short lived beauty and creates a memory, a smell, a feeling or just a moment to smile, to show love. To feel love.
