Herbival | Grow Your Own Herbs with Hackney Herbal

This workshop is part of the Herbival programme

Join us for a workshop on growing your own herbs. If you want to improve your knowledge and gain confidence to start growing herbs, this is the class for you!

Led by Nat Mady of Hackney Herbal this workshop will give you an overview of growing herbs in different urban spaces eg. windowsills, balconies, patios and small gardens. We will cover plant life cycles, soil types, plant care and share our top tips for growing successfully in pots and containers. Through the workshop we will touch on some of the medicinal properties of herbs. During the session you will have the opportunity to plant some herb seeds to take home.

This workshop will be socially distanced – please read our Visitors’ Charter and Q&As for the measures we’ve put in place to ensure your visit to the Museum is safe and enjoyable.

About Herbival

A new herbal celebration from the Garden Museum, Herbival puts herbs centre stage. We’ll be shining a light on where to find them, how to grow them and their countless, often long-forgotten uses. Visitors will be able to take part in tastings, talks, pressings, practical workshops and more, and there’ll be shopping too from a carefully curated edit of botanically-led brands.
