Friends of the Garden Museum are invited to a private tour of our upcoming exhibition, Sanctuary: Artist-Gardeners 1919-1939.
A golden age of garden painting will be celebrated in this new selling exhibition presented in partnership with Liss Llewellyn. Sanctuary: Artist-Gardeners 1919-1939 will show over 20 artists including Charles Mahoney, Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious, Evelyn Dunbar, John Nash, Nancy Nicholson, Kenneth Rowntree and Winifred Knights.
Between the two world wars there were an exceptional number of artists who gardened, taking their activities as plantsmen and plantswomen as seriously as they took their art.
Friends plus one guest are welcome to explore the exhibition at this exclusive Friends private tour. Tours will be led by our Curator at the below times; spaces are limited and tickets must be booked in advance.
Tours will last for approx. 30 minutes.
The Garden Café will also be open serving delicious dinner and drinks throughout the night, booking highly recommended – book a table.
