Heinzelmannchen Gnomes

These gnomes, illustrating a fairy tale from Cologne, were carved out of cow bone in Knockaloe internment camp on the Isle of Man. Grussel was an Austrian carver working in England when the First World War began and was interned as an enemy alien.
