Thyme

First Prize – One night stay at Thyme

Our first prize is an overnight stay for two at Thyme in the Cotswolds. Your stay will include dinner for two in the Ox Barn (includes 3 courses each and a bottle of house wine) and breakfast in the morning.

Thyme is a village within a village. It is a family story where a passion for the land, food and entertaining merges with a love of local heritage, beauty and conservation. Working with the historic buildings and the land that surrounds them, Thyme have created a thoughtful place with love and attention lavished on every detail.

“We hope you will experience a real connection to the land, the seasons and to nature, and we invite you to rest, relax and enjoy this English country idyll that our family call home.”  – Caryn Hibbert, Founder & Creative Director

Runner-up prize – VIP tickets to Frieze London 2024

One runner-up will win two VIP tickets to Frieze London 2024, generously donated by David Zwirner.

Frieze is one of the world’s most influential contemporary art fairs, focusing only on contemporary art and living artists, and takes place each October in The Regent’s Park, in the heart of London. At the 2023 fair, David Zwirner presented a selection of works by Frank Walter to coincide with Frank Walter: Artist, Gardener, Radical at the Garden Museum.

Frieze London 2024 takes place 9-13 October 2024, with the VIP day the first day (but the tickets are still valid after). The winner will also receive copies of two publications on the Antiguan artist Frank Walter, produced to coincide with a retrospective in Antigua and Barbuda’s inaugural National Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Biennale and at the Museum fur Moderne Kunst in 2020.

Runner-up prize – Caribbean plants

The second runner up will win a selection of Antiguan and Caribbean plants exhibited as part of our Frank Walter exhibition.

Selected in collaboration with guest curator Barbara Paca, each plant relates to Walter’s life and work. Some feature in his landscape and botanical paintings, such as palm trees and Anthurium andraeanum, while Aloe vera, Agave and bay (Laurus nobilis) all grew in his mountainside garden in Antigua, where he spent the final decades of his life painting, sculpting, writing and gardening. Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) was a plant Walter knew well, being a skilled agriculturalist and the first Black person to reach managerial level at the Antiguan Sugar Syndicate at just 22 years old. The collection has been carefully curated and grown by Head Gardener, Matt Collins and Horticultural Trainee, Georgie Johnson.

Runner-up prize – Antiguan culinary treats

Thanks to the generosity of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, our final prize is a feast of Antiguan treats and drinks for you to enjoy. This includes two bottles of Antiguan rum, chutneys, cookery books and other goodies.
