About Winter Flowers Week

Winter Flowers Week is the Garden Museum’s alternative festive celebration, showcasing seasonal flowers and foliage through immersive floral installations.

Championing a seasonal and sustainable approach to festive decoration, Winter Flowers Week is the festive edition of the Garden Museum’s annual summer exhibition British Flowers Week. Five floral designers will transform the museum into a winter wonderland like no other: with sustainability at the heart, their floral installations will be created using only British-grown seasonal flowers and foliage, and environmentally-friendly materials and methods.

Our Winter Flowers Week exhibitors are returning British Flowers Week alumni, all trailblazers in the field and passionate about improving sustainability in the floristry industry: JamJar Flowers, U.Fl.O, Harriet Parry Flowers, Wagner Kreusch, FridaKim

Join us in celebrating the beauty of winter blooms with our exclusive potpourri-making activity to accompany the floral installations of Winter Flowers Week. The art of drying flowers and herbs to preserve their scent has probably been practised for centuries, and preparing Potpourri was a fashionable and long cherished method for its ability to bring a natural, lasting fragrance into any space. Our winter flowers installation takes it a step further, providing creative inspiration for you to create a personalised, handcrafted recipe that celebrates the season’s floral beauty. Drawing on historical recipes, Tanya Moulding, aka The Perfume Mistress, will help you re-invent scenting your space and guide you in crafting a potpourri that’s uniquely yours with a colourful selection of fragrant flowers, vibrant spices, uplifting herbs and evergreens to perfectly capture the essence of winter.  Ideal for adding a cosy seasonal touch to your home or as gift for a loved one!
