Join artist Jennie Webber of Wild Life Drawing for a summer’s evening of sketching in the museum gardens.
This workshop invites you to use drawing as a way to look more closely at the gardens, to notice and appreciate the often overlooked details in nature; the seedling in the pavement crack, the hidden wild strawberries, and the surprising undersides of leaves. We will be spending two meditative hours exploring the space, taking inspiration from the current Jean Cooke exhibition to create unique and personal artworks. There will be a wide variety of materials with which to experiment and Jennie will be providing creative guidance and plenty of positive encouragement to help you get the most out of the class. There is much joy to be found in observing small details, and we will aim to capture this concept in our drawings.
Jennie will be covering the basics of observational drawing with demonstrations and examples at the beginning, and can provide advice on working with different mediums. All materials will be provided for this class and all ability levels are welcome.
