Talk | Outside In: Sean Pritchard & Luke Edward Hall in Conversation

Join us to celebrate the launch of garden designer Sean Pritchard's new book 'Outside In'.

In his debut book, Sean sheds light on how to plan a garden so that every month of the year there are cut flowers and foliage to bring indoors to decorate your home. From the cheery joy of early spring daffodils to the velvety richness of late-summer dahlias, the deep glow of golden autumn leaves and the optimism of late-winter catkins, Sean explains how to grow, harvest, and arrange an abundance of nature’s treasure – no matter the size of your plot or your level of horticultural experience.

For this talk Sean will be joined by artist and designer Luke Edward Hall to discuss the decorative power of displaying inside what you grow outside and the sense of celebration that can be brought by filling a home with plants and flowers.

Outside In will be available to purchase from the museum shop on the night.

    Sean Pritchard

Sean Pritchard is an award-winning garden designer, plantsman and author. Sean graduated with Distinction from the Garden Design School in Bristol before setting up his own practice where his work takes a sensitive, but often playful, approach to the landscape. Sean has designed two show gardens, including the Macmillan Legacy Garden at RHS Hampton Court in 2022.

Sean divides his time between London and Somerset – where he lives in a 300-year-old farm labourer’s cottage on the Mendip Hills, overlooking the Somerset Levels. He applies much of his garden design philosophy to the interiors of the cottage – taking a thoughtful but colourful and floriferous approach to the decoration. In 2024, Sean released his first book, Outside In, that explored the relationship between the garden and the home and the decorative power of bringing inside what you grow outside.
