Summer Family Session | Microscopes and Minibeasts

Join us this summer for sessions linked to the Summer Reading Challenge 2025: Story Garden. We will be going on a creative adventure, inspired by books in this year's Story Garden list. Whether you love poetry, using a microscope to observe minibeasts, or just want to read in the peace and calm of our Nave, we have something or you this summer holiday.

We are going to use the study of looking, looking very closely, to make beautiful artworks on canvas pencil cases for you to take home.  If weather permits we will venture into our healing then return to use our microscopes to observe our findings and museum slides in detail.

For this session we will be inspired by the following Summer Reading Challenge Books:

Wonderworld Earth The Natural Science of Soil by Ben Lerwill and Xuan le

The Observologist by Giselle Clarkson

Summer Reading Challenge 2025: Story Garden is presented by The Reading
Agency and delivered in partnership with libraries.
