Join us for an evening illustrating native garden plants along with classic British wildlife inspired by The Secret Garden, with Jennie Webber of Wild Life Drawing.
We’ll be looking to the illustrated story of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett and the accompanying exhibition The Secret Garden to create our own composition from a variety of high quality reference images.
You’ll learn how to compose your image on the page, the basics of observational drawing detailing flora and fauna with advice on the application on shading, tone and texture to create a detailed pencil drawing. All abilities are welcome, no prior art experience is necessary. Technique tips and creative guidance will be provided throughout, as well as plenty of encouragement.
This will be a lovely opportunity to explore your creative skills as well as learning more about our gardens and the furred and feathered visitors that frequent them!
