Take inspiration from botanical paintings by Margaret Rhodes and John Tyley from our current exhibition Sowing Roots: Caribbean Garden Heritage, and create your own composition from a variety of high quality reference images.

You’ll learn how to compose your image on the page, the basics of observational drawing detailing birds and botany with advice on the application of colour to create a completed artwork. All abilities are welcome, no prior art experience is necessary. Technique tips and creative guidance will be provided throughout, as well as plenty of encouragement.

This will be a lovely opportunity to explore your creative skills as well as learning more about the colourful flora and fauna native to the Caribbean.
