To mark the launch of her new book ‘Peonies’, join Claire Austin, the award-winning nurserywoman and acclaimed peony expert, in conversation with gardener and broadcaster, Rachel de Thame.
Claire and Rachel will be exploring the fascinating history of the peony, the beauty and surprising variety of these exquisite, full-petalled and often scented blooms, and Claire’s lifelong career in growing, exhibiting, promoting, photographing and researching peonies around the world.
Over the past 38 years, Claire has won RHS Gold at Chelsea, and grown thousands of peonies in her private gardens, nursery beds and in her peony fields, as holder of the National Collection of Hybrid Herbaceous Peonies. Now settled at White Hopton Farm amidst the rolling hills of the Welsh Borders, Claire opens her peony fields for the National Garden Scheme annually.
Claire’s book can be purchased here.
