Andy Sturgeon: Chelsea Flower Show Talk

Each year during the RHS Chelsea Flower Show the Garden Museum asks the designer of a show garden to tell the story behind their masterpiece, from conception to design and planting.

This year we have invited Andy Sturgeon to speak, designer of The Mind Garden.

Sculptural walls inhabit a woodland edge and a gardened meadow. They embrace and protect. Calm and serene they create places for conversation but at times they crowd together becoming uncomfortably close. The garden is designed to bring people together and to spark conversations around mental health.

Andy is one of the UK’s leading garden designers. Inspired by art and architecture his work explores the relationship between plants and structure and the wider landscape.

Andy will share his experiences and inspiration for his design for this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, as well as his memories of his eight previous gold medals and three ‘Best in Show’ wins in 2010, 2016 and 2019.
