This Frank Walter inspired ceramic plate making workshop is part of the Garden Museum's new Branch Out programme, a series of free events and activities exploring gardening, art, floristry, plant science, history, design, and more! Join us on Thursdays: no need to book, just show up.
Join our learning team for a peaceful session of ceramic plate-making inspired by our Frank Walter exhibition.
Frank Walter made a series of small circular paintings which he called his ‘spool’ paintings. Using these as inspiration, participants will make circular plates out of clay and then paint them with coloured slips.
The plates will be fired after the session (but not glazed) and can be collected from the museum at a later date.
Our Branch Out programme has been made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England.
