Derek Jarman Late Opening – 11/09/20

Can't make it to see our Derek Jarman exhibition during the day? Take advantage of our Friday evening extended opening hours, and book now to experience a piece of Dungeness spirit brought to life in Lambeth.

Discover the story of Derek Jarman’s garden at Prospect Cottage, Dungeness, in Derek Jarman: My Garden’s Boundaries are the Horizon.

With elements of Prospect Cottage recreated inside the Museum, the exhibition displays works of art and film alongside personal artefacts from inside the cottage. Crunch across the Dungeness shingles, wander down the creaking floorboard corridor, and you’ll encounter Jarman’s historic garden tools, handwritten journals, driftwood and stone sculptures, paintings, Super 8 films, gardening books and more.

Staying for dinner?

The Garden Café will be open for dinner, serving seasonal, ingredient-led cooking by Head Chef George Ryle, with tables available among the foliage and flowers of our courtyard garden.

Booking is essential, with limited tables available at 6pm or 8pm, perfect for fitting in a drink and a bite to eat either before or after your exhibition visit! And if you are a member of our Young Fronds membership scheme, let us know when making your booking, and you’ll get 25% off your bill.

Contact cafebookings@gardenmuseum.org.uk to reserve your table.
