Clay for Dementia 2021

A programme of online sessions for people affected by dementia and their companions.

Led by ceramics artist Katie Spragg and supported by volunteers and our Head of Learning the sessions which are usually held in our Clore Learning Space went online from April 2020.

These relaxing weekly online sessions for people with dementia and their companions shielding at home provide a regular creative and social activity.

Katie demonstrates techniques to create objects and sculptures from clay, inspired by nature and the museum’s collection and exhibitions. The pieces created are collected from participant’s homes and fired and glazed in a kiln ready to be displayed in the museum or returned directly to our participants at home.

Thank you to our funders.
