British Flowers Week 2025 | Wildflowers & Watercolours with Wild Life Drawing and Wallflower London

Celebrate British Flowers Week at the Garden Museum by learning new creative skills. Create a sculptural seasonal vase arrangement and then use it as inspiration for your watercolour painting. One workshop, two skill-sets and plenty of beautiful British blooms.

In the morning, Kat will teach you to make a small vase arrangement, celebrating British seasonal summer flowers. In Wallflower’s distinctive wild and sculptural style, we will explore shapes, textures and colour. Kat will take you through all the stages of creating an arrangement, from conditioning the flowers, prepping handy mechanics for the vase and finally arranging the flowers to create your very own arrangement to take home. All tools, vases and flowers included.

After lunch, Jennie will be guiding you through the art of botanical illustration in pen and watercolours, using your own floral arrangement as inspiration. Jennie will be demonstrating techniques including composition and colour mixing and sharing tips on capturing petals on paper. All materials provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

This inclusive class is designed for all ability levels, especially beginners. Encouraging and full of positivity, our aim is for you to leave with not one, but two works of art, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.

A little about your tutors

Wallflower was founded by Kat Argent, in South East London in 2018 after originally training as a set designer. Working with both fresh and dried flowers, Wallflower’s distinctive floral design is motivativated by a love of texture, sculptural shapes and intriguing flower combinations, creating beautifully modern designs that move with the seasons.

Jennie Webber began Wild Life Drawing in 2014, and her magical drawing classes with real animals (and flowers!) have been raising money and awareness for conservation ever since. An artist in her own right, Jennie has illustrated a variety of nature-themed children’s books and most recently has had her life size animal paintings on display at the Natural History Museum.
