This Botanical Painting workshop is part of the Garden Museum's new Branch Out programme, a series of free events and activities exploring gardening, art, floristry, plant science, history, design, and more! Join us every week for free workshops, talks, walks and more.
Join Katy McIntyre Brown and Russell Coles of Horatio’s Garden for a peaceful drop-in painting workshop open for aspiring and practiced painters alike.
Using flowers and dried seed pods as painting studies Katy and Russell will guide participants in the art of painting botanical studies.
Horatio’s Garden is a national charity that creates nurturing beautiful gardens in NHS spinal injury centres to support everyone affected by spinal injury. They grow thriving communities to support patients and their networks facing long stays in NHS hospitals as they adjust to, or care for someone with, a life-changing injury.
Our Branch Out programme has been made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England.

Horatio's Garden
We are a national charity that creates nurturing beautiful gardens in NHS spinal injury centres to support everyone affected by spinal injury. We grow thriving communities to support patients and their networks facing long stays in NHS hospitals as they adjust to, or care for someone with, a life-changing injury. Leading landscape designers create these stunning sanctuaries, working in collaboration with prominent architects to design garden rooms ensuring the space can be used all year round. The gardens become an integral part of people’s lives throughout their time in hospital.
To date we have opened seven gardens in Salisbury, Glasgow, Stoke Mandeville, Oswestry, London, Cardiff and Belfast. We are currently fundraising for our eighth in Sheffield. In time, we plan to bring Horatio’s Garden to all 11 NHS spinal injury centres in the UK.
