Branch Out | Stitching with Nature

This workshop is part of the Garden Museum's Branch Out programme, a series of free events and activities exploring gardening, art, floristry, plant science, history, design, and more!

In this workshop, Katerina will guide participants through a series of traditional hand embroidery techniques using dried plant materials as alternative textile embellishments. You will learn how to handle these unusual materials such as lavender seeds, cornflowers, dahlia petals, and marigolds, delicately stitching them into cloth. Whether you are interested in textiles, gardening, meditation, or would just like to learn something new, this workshop promises to be soothing and sensorial.

All materials will be provided by Katerina, including a varied selection of dried plant materials, homegrown or sustainably foraged from her local surroundings in the picturesque Malvern hills. No experience is necessary, you are encouraged to take each stitch slowly and stitch at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Our Branch Out programme has been made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England.
