Branch Out | Queering Rest: A Nature Writing Workshop

This workshop is part of the Garden Museum's new Branch Out programme, a series of free events and activities exploring gardening, art, floristry, plant science, history, design, and more!

Join nature writer and founder of Peaks of Colour, Evie Muir (@xeviemuir), and Queer Ecologist and founder of Soil to Sky, Jasmine Isha Qureshi (@wildheartwithacamera) for an experiential and experimental nature writing workshop. Through playful, sensory interactions with the museum garden and prompts developed from Evie’s debut book Radical Rest, we will explore how we can apply the concept of Queer Ecology to our nature connection and writing practices. In this workshop we will play with decolonising language, queering the botanical and resting our bodies, creating imaginative, alternative ways of being in and of nature.

This workshop is primarily aimed at queer people of colour and of the global majority, though all are welcome.

Our Branch Out programme has been made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England.
