Branch Out | Bloomsbury Patch Making

This workshop is part of the Garden Museum's Branch Out programme, a series of free events and activities exploring gardening, art, floristry, plant science, history, design, and more!

In this upcycled patch workshop with mixed media textile artist and lecturer Nicole Line, participants will draw onto paper taking inspiration from the paintings in Gardening Bohemia: Bloomsbury Women Outdoors, focusing on colour and pattern.

Once your designs are created, embellish the surface with stitches before making your patch. Participants will also embellish a patch that is digitally printed with the exhibition paintings onto recycled polyester fabric using a heat press. You will come away with two patch designs that you could apply to your tote bag or jacket.

Our Branch Out programme has been made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England
