This workshop is part of the Garden Museum's new Branch Out programme, a series of free events and activities exploring gardening, art, floristry, plant science, history, design, and more!
For the average London-living houseplant enthusiast, valuable floor and table real estate can quickly be overtaken by pots, leaves and vines. But not to worry – there’s a natural solution! Many of our common houseplants are epiphytic or hemi-epiphytic in nature – meaning in their native habitats, they grow by attaching themselves to the surface of other plants or structures. Mounting plants in our homes not only replicates their ideal circumstances, but makes for a stunning and unique method of display, saving already-limited space and creating a stunning piece of living wall art.
There’s always room for one more!
Join Ikaay (@growwslow) for a workshop on how to create these wall-mounted plant displays.
Our Branch Out programme has been made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England.
