Branch Out | Gardeners Guide to Hand Spun Wool

This Hand Spun Wool workshop is part of the Garden Museum's new Branch Out programme, a series of free events and activities exploring gardening, art, floristry, plant science, history, design, and more!

Every gardener needs warm, durable, and beautifully sustainable accessories, so come and learn to process raw wool.

From raw fleece, the benefits and uses of lanolin, to carding and hand spinning, Hope Von Joel will deliver an immersive workshop teaching the traditional craft of wool processing and the magical properties of sheep, mohair, and alpaca wool. Hope will teach participants the traditional craft of wool processing, from carding wool by hand, to spinning a usable fleece, and creating hand spun wool.

All fleeces come from happy and well cared for sheep, goats, and lamas in Devon and the Cornish borders.
