Benton End | Acrylic Painting Workshop with Naomi Munuo

Join Benton End’s Artist in Residence, Naomi Munuo for a day of painting, taking inspiration from Benton End’s walled garden.

Naomi Munuo graduated from Central St Martin’s with a degree in fashion design in 1992. Soon after, she decided to pursue painting, rather than a career in fashion. Three daughters later, she established herself as a full time art teacher, later to become a faculty leader of Arts and a senior leader within the school. During this time, she continued to produce and exhibit paintings at the John Russell Gallery until it closed in 2017.

In 2020 she left teaching to pursue painting full time and has exhibited widely across the country with work included at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Liberty London, and Arundel Contemporary. Today she works between private commissions and gallery exhibitions.

In February 2025 Naomi became Benton End’s artist in residence; working at the house and in the gardens for six weeks. As part of Pathways, the culminating exhibition of this residency, Naomi is delivering a one-off workshop, guiding you through a day of painting direct from the garden.

It will be an exciting day exploring techniques such as colour mixing, masking, layering, free hand painting and making and using stencils. Suitable for beginners and those who already enjoy painting.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore the house and grounds at Benton End, the former home and garden of artist plantsman Cedric Morris which is currently being restored by the Garden Museum.

The day includes tea and coffee on arrival, lunch, all materials, and your walled garden painting to take home.
