Update 23/3/20: The Garden Museum is currently temporarily closed. We hope to open again as soon as possible. Please follow our digital channels for the latest updates, and to explore our exhibitions and collections.
We have had no cases, alerts or ‘false alarms’ of COVID-19 from our staff, volunteers or visitors.
We are asking all our visitors to wash their hands, or apply sanitizer, on arrival, and our cleaners are working extra hours.
We ask you to follow government guidelines when you choose whether or not to visit the Museum: that is, ‘Anyone with a fever or persistent cough should stay at home for seven days if they live alone or 14 days if they live with others. Anyone who lives with someone displaying coronavirus symptoms should also stay at home for 14 days’. We also request that people aged over 60 or with underlying health conditions (however mild), protect themselves by self-isolating and not visit the museum (as per government guidelines), until the threat of infection has been reduced.
We are giving staff the opportunity to work from home if they wish to avoid a crowded commute, and staff who have recently returned from abroad are also working from home for at least 7 days. So, if possible, please email rather than telephone.
Many of our upcoming public programmes are being postponed as part of a considered policy by which we decide which public events to postpone and which to go ahead with. All ticket holders are being contacted via email if their event is being postponed, and their tickets will be valid for the new date, or can be transferred to a new event of their choice.
Our refund policy for talks and workshops, for garden visits and the Literary Festival continues to be as follows: if you cancel more than 28 days in advance of the event you receive a credit note to the full value valid for one year which can be redeemed against a future event of your choice.
