Handmade from Sequoia this sweet little Bottle Vase was turned in a way that allows the creamy sapwood to feature at the top and then transition into the rich orange heartwood of the tree in the body of the vase. This one is for ornamental or dry use, perhaps with a couple of your favorite dried flowers or an artistically selected twig.

A pair of bottle vases hand turned from striking Patterned Birch Wood. These are for ornamental or dry use, perhaps with a couple of your favorite dried flowers or an artistically selected twig. To produce this unique material fallen Birch trees are left on their sides in the woodlands for between 3 and 5 years and during this time various creatures cause the patterns as they break the log down. Once the wood is milled and dried the beautiful results are locked in place waiting to be revealed by our chisels. Between the time in the forest and then air drying it can be 6-8 years after the tree was felled before we get our hands on this material and our challenge is to make sure that we do it justice and turn something truly beautiful from it.

With the popularity of our smaller vases these newly launched extra tall bottle vases were a natural evolution for our range. Perfect for larger spaces they are beautiful objects in their own right but can also be used with dried flowers / tall grasses or an architecturally selected small branch or two.

Another new shape for us, the rounded shape of these River Stone Vases shows off the grain of the timber beautifully. For use with dried flowers or an architecturally selected twig or two.

A beautiful piece of handmade contemporary design with a finishing technique that dates back millennia. This bowl is hand turned from English Oak and once shaped it underwent the ancient Japanese technique of Yakisugi. This involved scorching the outside with a 2000 degree flame to cause instant charring. An abrasive was then used to remove the thin layer of loose charcoal and the process started again. After the second charring the bowl was treated with a food safe organic oil

Another first for us… a pair of egg cups! These cute little things are based on our angled Køben design and are shown here paired with the Red Elm Board and Plate Set also listed in the webshop.
