In a world increasingly obsessed with speed, mass production and the throwaway, we choose to stand at the opposite end of the spectrum. At Bird & Branch, every curve is shaped by hand to make products that will last a lifetime and beyond. We hope you love and enjoy our products as much in their use as we have done in their creation, bringing a Bird & Branch piece into your home entwines the hand of nature and that of the maker with your own story. We combine the traditional technique of woodturning with a modern design language. Unlike normal commercial production, every Bird & Branch creation is hand made from a single piece of solid wood. This approach ensures continuity of grain and a direct visual connection with the tree from which it came. Primarily working with British hardwoods, we are proud to partner with selected timber suppliers who share our ideals when it comes to ethics and sustainability.
Merging the clean lines of Scandinavian design with high quality timbers from Great Britain and beyond, Bird & Branch create beautiful, original pieces, with a fresh and contemporary feel.

Pair of Bottle Vases
From £60.00
Patterned Birch
A pair of bottle vases hand turned from striking Patterned Birch Wood. These are for ornamental or dry use, perhaps with a couple of your favorite dried flowers or an artistically selected twig. To produce this unique material fallen Birch trees are left on their sides in the woodlands for between 3 and 5 years and during this time various creatures cause the patterns as they break the log down. Once the wood is milled and dried the beautiful results are locked in place waiting to be revealed by our chisels. Between the time in the forest and then air drying it can be 6-8 years after the tree was felled before we get our hands on this material and our challenge is to make sure that we do it justice and turn something truly beautiful from it.
