The Ladybird Books Story

Join best-selling author Cressida Connolly as she takes us through the artists and authors that shaped the Ladybird Books series on the natural world, and reflects on her own fascination with these beloved books.

Cressida Connolly has written about Ladybird books for The Telegraph, and appeared on Radio 4 and on BBC television, discussing the books and her own collection. She wrote the obituaries of several well-loved Ladybird artists – Harry Wingfield, John Berry and Martin Aitchison – for The Guardian and curated an exhibition of original Ladybird art, which toured the UK.

Cressida has written three books of fiction, most recently After the Party (Penguin); as well as a biography, The Rare and The Beautiful.  She lives on a farm in Worcestershire.
