Gardener’s Cabinet: Andy Sturgeon

Part of a season of conversations curated and convened by Tim Richardson, garden historian and landscape critic.

The Gardener’s Cabinet has been conceived by Tim to learn the secrets of what makes great gardeners tick. Each time, our guest picks eight items – from a favourite book and piece of music to their favourite garden – and tell us how they have inspired their work.

Our star for this season’s Gardener’s Cabinet is Andy Sturgeon, fresh from a triumphant summer winning his 8th gold medal and 3rd Best in Show at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019.

One of the UK’s leading garden designers, Andy Sturgeon’s sculptural landscapes are a fusion of traditional materials and contemporary design known for their timeless architectural qualities and innovative planting. He works on all scales and in a wide range of climates and has an expertise in tropical plants. Both The Sunday Times and House & Garden Magazine place Andy in the Top Ten list of landscape designers in Britain with recent accolades including Gold Awards from Singapore, Korea, Japan and Philadelphia.

Join us for an amicable chat and glimpse into the working mind of one of the most influential and successful garden designers working the UK today.
