British Flowers Week is set to return to the Garden Museum from 11-16 June 2019, for a week-long floral exhibition in partnership with founders New Covent Garden Market, the UK’s premier flower supplier.
Uniting florists, flower growers, wholesalers and flower lovers, British Flowers Week is a celebration of Britain’s best blooms, in support of the country’s floral industry.
As part of this campaign, this exhibition will see five of Britain’s top florists creating innovative installations using flowers from the Flower Market. This year’s theme is ‘Memories’ and the florists; Ruth Davis from All for Love London, Terri Chandler and Katie Smyth from Worm, Graeme Corbett from Bloom & Burn, Rowan Lewis of Rowan Blossom and Carly Rogers of Carly Rogers Flowers, will showcase their creations based around their personal memories. The original site-specific installations are being designed in response to various spaces within the Museum.

About British Flowers Week
Started by New Covent Garden Market in 2013, British Flowers Week is a week-long celebration of the wealth and variety of the best of British cut flowers and foliage. It aims to showcase great British flowers through great British floristry, raise awareness of which British flowers are in season and encourage the public to buy more British flowers.
British flowers and foliage are enjoying a long-awaited resurgence in popularity. Buyers are increasingly demanding more locally grown produce to celebrate the seasons and support British growers. Often scented, British flowers have a natural charm, beauty and just-picked freshness that make them the florist’s favourite.

Rowan Blossom is a Notting Hill-based florist who specialises in wild and natural creations using seasonal blooms. She left a career in fashion to found her own business in 2014, and her clients include Bloom & Wild, Elle, Matthew Williamson, JW Anderson and the Outnet.

Katie Smyth and Terri Chandler started Worm in 2016 in East London. What began as a book and bunch delivery service now sees the pair designing flowers for occasions, print and conceptual projects. They are inspired by many things starting with the imperfect wild flowers that grew around them while growing up on the coast of southern Ireland.
