Legendary garden writer Robin Lane Fox is joining Tim for this special Gardener’s Cabinet Salon. The UK’s longest-running gardening columnist having written his weekly feature in the Financial Times for nearly fifty years, Robin is also a renowned classicist, ancient historian, author, and an Emeritus Fellow of New College, Oxford.
The Gardener’s Cabinet has been conceived by Tim, to learn the secrets of what makes great gardeners tick. Robin will pick eight items – from a favourite book and piece of music to his favourite garden – and tell us how they have inspired his work. A light-hearted glimpse into the working mind of an opinionated and knowledgeable gardening expert awaits.

Tim Richardson, garden historian and landscape critic, is an irreverent commentator on all matters pertaining to gardens. He was gardens editor at Country Life, at *Wallpaper magazine and edited New Eden, the contemporary gardens magazine. He is now a regular columnist in the gardening pages of the Daily Telegraph.

The UK’s longest-running gardening columnist having written his weekly feature in the Financial Times for nearly fifty years, Robin is also a renowned classicist, ancient historian, author, and an Emeritus Fellow of New College, Oxford. Fellow and Tutor in Ancient History at New College from 1977 to 2014, he serves as Garden Master and as Extraordinary Lecturer in Ancient History for both New and Exeter Colleges. He has also taught Greek and Latin literature and early Islamic history.
