This engraved silver two handled cup standing on a brown base, probably bakelite, was donated to the Garden Museum by the winner, John B Nicholls of Uxbridge, to whom it was awarded by The Royal Horticultural Society in 1949 for gaining the 1st prize in the Flower Arrangement Competition for Amateurs. Mr Nicholls won a similar award at the Chelsea Show in 1950. He donated both cups and the accompanying certificates to the Garden Museum in 1993.
