‘Garden Party’ is a collection of brand new paintings exploring the joy, madness and solitude of garden life in the summer. From quiet moments to eating with friends to dancing at the moon, this series, all completed in Spring/Summer 2019, celebrates the world we create behind our fences, hedges and walls with bright watercolours and plenty of pattern.
Lizzy Stewart is an illustrator and author from Plymouth. She studied Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art (2005-2009) and Communication Design at Central St Martins (2011-2013). Her first picture book ‘There’s a Tiger in the Garden’ won the Waterstones Children’s Book Award for picture books and a World Illustration Award in 2017. She has written and illustrate two more books since then and her first illustrated book for adults ‘Walking Distance’ is published in October 2019.
