Make a Miniature Gravel Garden

Make a miniature gravel garden inspired by Beth Chatto’s famous Gravel Garden in Essex.

Working with florist Elaine Fisher, we will use florists’ techniques to create an indoor gravel garden, which would make a beautiful gift or feature for your home.

We will create a the gardens in a container from a choice of three – wicker, plastic or zinc, using fresh flowers and plants.  Your garden will be gift wrapped at the end of the session for an easy journey home.

All materials will be provided and refreshments will be available during the afternoon.

    Elaine Fisher

    Elaine is a floristry lecturer with 10 years’ experience as a florist. She teaches beginners through to Level 3 City and Guilds floristry and floral design qualifications. She completed her floristry training at Southwark College where she also began teaching while still a student completing her Level 3 and Level 4 Diploma. She worked at Vive La Rose Florists under the owner Angela Llorett where she began first as a student and then quickly becoming a member of the permanent staff. During her five years at Vive La Rose she learned skills and techniques working with amazing flowers and making gorgeous arrangements at what The Independent and Time Out Magazine voted one of the 10 best florists in the UK. she has made contract arrangements for the Athenium, Reform club, Kuwait Oil and worked on the Claridge’s Radio Times Covers Parties floral designs. The bulk of her work is teaching students to have fun with flowers and how to make beautiful designs using their creativity and individual style whilst learning techniques and developing new skills.
