Join us in the learning studio kitchen for a hands on cooking workshop to explore cooking with oranges and lemons
For this half term workshop we’ve been inspired by the tangerine painting currently on display at our Lucian Freud: Plant Portraits exhibition, but tangerines & lemons doesn’t have quite the same ring to it does it? In the class we will explore cooking with these seasonal citrus fruits which are famously paired together in the old English nursery rhyme about church bells in London. Their mention is supposedly linked to the church bell’s proximity to the wharves on The River Thames where citrus fruits were shipped into London in previous centuries.
As well as learning about various types of oranges and lemons, and cooking together the class includes sharing the meal you’ve made.
Menu:
Broccoli Lemon Pasta Bake
Blood Orange Salad
Tangerine Cake

- Family classes are for young children aged 5-7 years (and older) old who attend with a parent or guardian (adults are invited to get stuck in with the cooking also).
