This autumn term the Garden Museum will be running short family feasts cooking sessions online on select Saturday mornings.
Whilst social distancing remains, we will be holding our family feasts cooking sessions online, so you’ll be able to join us from your home kitchens.
We ran 5 online sessions throughout August, and despite initial reservations about the new format, everyone adapted well and reported that they had enjoyed themselves as well as the food!
As usual, our sessions will be for small groups, for maximum interaction. We’re shortening them a little from our in person sessions as we know that cooking on screen requires a lot more attention than cooking in person.
Our family sessions are geared towards children aged 5-10, and they will need to be supervised throughout by an adult.
Sessions will be run on zoom software, available through a desktop, laptop, or smart phone and a private link to access the class will be sent out to participants the day of the event. Our online classes adhere to an online code of conduct, a copy of which will be sent out with the ingredients list.
Click on the link below to find out what we’ll be cooking together, and to book your spot. Keep checking back here regularly for updates. New sessions will be added on a monthly basis while we we review the possibility of returning to in-person sessions.
All sessions will be led by our Food Learning Officer Ceri, from her home kitchen.
Cost £2 per family*, with free places available for those based in Lambeth who need them to be. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to enquire about free places.
Sessions take place from 10.30-12pm.
*Note: These classes are subsidized to keep prices affordable. Participants will be responsible for sourcing their own ingredients for the cookalong sessions, we estimate the total cost for ingredients for each session to be £8-10 (much less if you have a full store cupboard of staples). We understand that plans change, but since spaces on these classes are very limited we would appreciate a 48 hour notice period if you wish to cancel your place so that it can be passed onto another family.
