Each school holiday we host hands on food learning cooking workshops for children aged 6-10, in our learning studio kitchen. Come and join us over the Easter holidays when we'll be exploring dishes from East and South East Asian cuisines.
This Easter we’ll be cooking together some vegetarian dishes inspired by recipes from Japan, China and Thailand.
Monday 15th April | Japanese inspired dishes such as beetroot sushi, okonomiyaki, edamame with chilli jam and chocolate sesame balls.
Tuesday 16th April | Chinese inspired dishes such as dumplings, one pan noodles and Sichuan sticky cauliflower.
Thursday 18th April | Thai inspired dishes such as Thai green curry, Pad Thai and something sweet for dessert involving mango.
In each class we’ll also put our chopstick handling skills to test in an Easter themed game.
The idea of our classes is that everyone who attends – child and parent gets involves and cooks together, this is not just for the children. We welcome children and their families, and this workshop is particularly aimed at children aged 6-10. However if children have attended one of our cooking workshops at the Garden Museum before and are aged 8 and above they may attend unaccompanied if dropped off and collected up by a parent or guardian.
The course will take place in our food learning studio. All food and equipment is provided and the session includes a light vegetarian lunch.
If you or your child has any allergies please let us know in advance.
Please note the sessions are usually very popular, so early booking is advised. In the interest of fairness we ask that all attendees book just one of the three weekday sessions.
Tickets £3* per person, per day (children and adults need a ticket). Ticket includes entry to the Museum.
*This class is subsidised to keep prices affordable.
