International Garden Festival, Liverpool
A guidebook for the International Garden Festival held at Liverpool in 1984. The Festival ran from the 2nd May to 14th October and was staged on a derelict 320-acre industrial site adjacent to the River Mersey. The idea for this regeneration scheme originated from the then Environment Minister Michael Hesseltine and attracted over three million visitors. Gift of Mrs C.R. Simpson – purchased when visiting the Festival.
