Spirit Garden Inspiration

A key focus in our ‘The Good Life’ exhibition, John Seymour is known and respected as the one of the fathers of self-sufficiency. After studying at agricultural college, he worked on farms in England and spent ten years in Africa, managing a sheep and cattle farm and acting as a livestock officer for a veterinary department.On his return, he dedicated his life to teaching and promoting self-sufficiency and established the School of Self-Sufficiency in Ireland
