Activities

Early Years Groups

Activities include seed sowing, learning about watering, and drawing.

KS1 to KS2

National Curriculum Science activities can cover:

  • Life Cycles
  • Growing plants
  • Plant Structures and Growth
  • Helping plants grow well
  • Seed dispersal

There is usually a seed sowing workshop.

KS3 to Sixthform

From 2017 we will be offering plant science focused learning sessions for studying Biology in the National Currriculum at KS3, KS4 & KS5.

Drawing in the garden and museum from early years to 'A' level.

Special Educational Needs / EAL

The museum is an ideal environment for small group visits and pupils with special needs or English as an Additional Language are very welcome.  Hands-on activities can be tailored for the needs of your group with opportunities for multi-sensory learning.  Examples of activities for Gifted and Talented visits include a maths challenge for Year 5 pupils and botanical painting with artists.
