TOPIARY WEEKEND

Our first Topiary Weekend, in association with the European Topiary and Boxwood Society,
and inspired by the topiary at Great Dixter. A range of exhibitors will sell topiary and related goods and there will be a series of talks and workshops each day. General advice will be available on the care and cultivation of topiary.

Leading botanist Prof. Braam van Wyk will visit the Museum to talk about the beauty and ecology of South Africa's stunning elevated grasslands (the highveld).

Braam’s passion for this part of South Africa is legendary and inspirational, and he is a much sought-after speaker both in his native country and internationally.
He has written numerous books and articles on this unique landscape and is considered the leading authority on Highveld plants in the world.

CHRISTOPHER LLOYD: A LIFE AT GREAT DIXTER

1 April to 12 September

Our current exhibition is a fascinating retrospective of the late Christopher Lloyd: horticulturalist, writer and one of the gardening world's great characters. Bringing together personal objects from Christopher’s home at Great Dixter, recollections from his friends and colleagues, his writing and gardens, the exhibition is the first major retrospective on his life and work since his death in 2006.

Horticultural Internship

We're proud to announce that applications are now open for our Horticultural Internship place for 2010/11.

Each year we take on a talented, recently qualified gardener to work in our gardens and shadow some of the industries most respected designers, gardners and plantsmen. You can download a job description here, or read our current intern's blog here.

Applications close at 12 noon on Tuesday 17 August.

of ground-breaking digital botanical images by Niki Simpson. Each image is an intricately detailed and accurate illustration based on digital photography, but containing scanning electron micrographs, flatbed scans, computer drawings and scanned, hand-drawn work.
